American Chestnut Seedlings

from 15.00

NC Champ was planted in 1974 at CT Ag Station and treated with Hypovirus. this tree shows very little blight, in a location where the pressure is high. very hard to collect seed from this one! I managed to get a few seed two years ago. The pictures to the left are of this tree.

East Hill Open Pollinated are seed collected from East Hill Nursery in Plainfield VT. These trees are mostly American. The seed was collected originally from John Wires, a famous local tree grower who was growing chestnuts for 40 years at 2000’ elevation in Zone 3/4. Beautiful timber form trees with good blight resistance.
