J. Russell Smith gushes over the potential of the Honey Locust in his book "Tree Crops-A Permanent Agriculture".  He says " My prize (he organized a competition for the best honey locust pods in 1926) Honey Locust of 1926 had 29% sugar. A decade later the enterprising John W. Hershey.. found the folowing Honey Locusts: MIllwood, 36% sugar; Calhoune 38.9% sugar.  

These are seedlings from John W. Hershey's old nursery in Downingtown Pennsylvania.

We will be adding grafted plants for sale in 2019.
